Assistant Professor
Emporia State University, School of Library and Information Management is seeking an assistant professor whose talent, interests and knowledge areas will expand our program in information management. This could include such knowledge areas as information brokering, global information services, entrepreneurial services, policy, economics of information, and management. Applicants should be committed to working with master's students who are interested in creating their own businesses as well as those who would bring new ideas into corporate, academic, school or public libraries. The successful candidate's research interests and record must demonstrate an eagerness and ability to teach in the doctoral program.
This is a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position to be filled no later than August, 1997. Candidates must have a doctorate, or be nearing completion of a doctorate, in library/ information science or a related area; be able to teach effectively in doctoral and distance learning programs; and be willing to provide leadership in professional service.
The School of Library and Information Management offers the M.L.S. and Ph.D. through an innovative curriculum and the M.L.S. through a substantial distance education program. The Emporia campus is the hub for programs conducted in Kansas, Oregon, Colorado, and Utah. The School is located in a city of 30,000 in the beautiful Flint Hills area of east central Kansas mid-way on Interstate I-35 between Wichita, Topeka, and Kansas City.
