The University of Western Ontario-The Faculty of Communications and Open Learning invites applications for a full-time probationary (tenure-track) faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. In addition to demonstrated ability in research and teaching, the successful candidate for this position must have expertise in media or information studies in the context of the newly emerging technological environment. Experience using converging technologies in journalism would be an asset. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and academic strength to help build a new faculty at The University of Western Ontario, one which takes as its scholarly domain the role and impact of information, media, and communications in the lives of individuals and in society. Duties will include teaching in a new undergraduate program on Media, Information and Technoculture as well as teaching in the graduate program in Journalism. A minimal requirement is a Ph.D. completed or nearing completion in Communications, Library and Information Science, or other relevent discipline.
