Distance Degree via GroupwarePoster Session, Thursday, February 13, 1997, 7:30pm - 9:30pm Supported by a generous grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the College of Information Science and Technology, Drexel University, is currently delivering our Master of Science in Information Systems degree asynchronously, by way of Lotus Notes. The Lotus Notes environment carries required "readings," assignments, and exams and supports individual correspondence, discussions, debates, and collaborative student projects. We've been doing trials of course delivery in this mode for about two years, primarily on campus, and have some data that point to the successes and problems of the method. In the fall term of 1996, we began offering the whole MSIS degree asynchronously, primarily to people in the northeast. .......................................................................................................
