1. Have students find photographs or magazine clippings of all the world heavyweight boxing champions since Jack Johnson. Display a collage of these images in class.
   
   
2. Have students choose two boxers and write a comparison on their careers. What impact did these boxers have on the African-American community?
   
   
3. Have a class room discussion on who the greatest African-American boxer was/is. Discuss the social and political events that have affected the careers of African-American athletes, i.e., racial prejudice, war, family life, health, etc.
