When Letitia Byrd applied for a job in the Ann Arbor Schools in the early 1960's, she was told to go to Inkster. In 1965 due to civil rights legislation, she became the first Black teacher at Forsythe Junior High School. She went on to complete a successful career in the Ann Arbor Public Schools. Ms. Byrd shares her valuable insights and experiences in her interview. |
