Dorothy Slay




As a result of Civil Rights legislation, many schools closed and sent African American students to other schools to reverse the existing segregation. Dorothy Slay played a role in protesting the busing of children to far away schools. She took a stand against the closing of Jones School and the busing of students to achieve racial balance.
