Someday
(By Victoria Munson's class,
Scarlett Middle School)
Someday
we won't be different
Someday we'll be the same
Someday we'll all be people
And each have our own name.
We may be different colors,
And many different shades,
But why can't you see
That we're really all the same?
It's not fair that you can do things,
And other people can't,
Shouldn't we all have equal rights
And be treated like humans?
I must drink at the fountain
And sleep at this hotel,
That restaurant won't serve me
And if I speak I'm thrown in jail.
The KKK is coming,
They'll burn our home or yours.
Soon we may not be here,
Or be greeted with open doors.
But, Someday we won't be different,
Someday we'll be the same.
Someday we'll all be people
And each have our own name.
Hitler was an evil man
He thought he had a great plan
Ruled the people with fear and hate
And killed the Jews at an alarming rate
When the U.S. heard this horrible news
They decided to go and help the Jews
Hitler knew this and prepared for war
And he made Berlin the capital and core
He spread out his forces to take over the land
But some people thought he should be banned
A few good people helped the Jews hide
The ones not so lucky had to take a long train ride
They were thrown in terrible death camps
There they would shave your head and gave out numbered
stamps
The war would soon come to an end
And the people and countries came to mend
Millions of Jews died in the war
And there were millions, millions more
New we teach what happened then
So we might live in peace again.
