LIBRARY - CATALOGING |

Kelly Webster
from the University of Michigan libraries worked at Little Big Horn
College for 6 weeks during October and November, 2000. During this time,
she cataloged approximately 2,900 titles for the Little Big Horn College
library. These included:
Ms. Webster spent two weeks working with Christina Stops-Hill, training her to do basic copy cataloging. Bonnie Johnson, a consultant, wrote a technical services manual for the library, and Christina and Ms. Webster revised it as the training went along. For the last few days of her stay she also began training Tim Bernardis, the library director, to do original cataloging by working on some sample records. Other projects I was involved in include: weeding the Reference collection; setting up a "Free Books" table for the hundreds of duplicates that were being withdrawn; assisting in training students to do processing; and working with the technical services consultant to document procedures and make recommendations.
