COURSE REQUIREMENTS

1. Complete required readings and participate in class discussions.

2. Write two analytical 6-7 pp. essays synthesizing a week’s readings and then lead discussion.

3. Prepare an 6-7 pp. response to a case study and present your recommendations in class:

  Group One: Due Week 6 (March 1)
 Group Two: Due Week 10 (March 29)
One week prior to the due date, the instructor will assign a specific question set to each group. Working individually, students will prepare and hand in a 6-7 page analysis of their question set on the due date. Each student will also be expected to participate in the discussion of their analysis and recommendations to their question set during class on the due date.

4. Complete a group project to develop an electronic records management strategy for a specific organizational setting.  Your group will also be required to present a 20-30 minute summary of your project in class. Due Week 14 (April 26).

Working in groups of 4-5, students will be required to develop an electronic records management strategy, 35 pp. maximum including attachments, for a specific context to be assigned by the instructor. Groups will be expected to gather information on the current environment, analyze the existing electronic records and recordkeeping situation, present their findings, and develop and propose recommendations. Specific instructions will be provided on the structure and format of the final written product when the assignments are distributed on Week 8 (March 15).

A brief interim report (3-5 pp.) from each group describing accomplishments to date, work plans for completing the project, and problems encountered will be due Week 10 (March 29), four weeks prior to the final due date.
