Internet Training for Small Business From the Fall of 1997 through the Spring of 1998, the Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative (MMLC) has offered a series of Internet related seminars to the small business community at its member libraries in Lapeer, Genesee, and Shiawassee counties. This site pulls together the materials used at all three sessions. Much of the material would be useful for general Internet training classes, as well as easily adapted for use with other special audiences. In addition to the outlines and handouts, links to resources for learning more and researching aspects of the topics are included, making it a useful learning resource in its own right. http://www.mel.lib.mi.us/help/biztrain/
Training materials used in Lapeer County Government OnLine. Lapeer County Library has long recognized that citizen access of local government information is often difficult because of its distributive nature. The library has worked closely, for many years, with other county departments and administrative offices. When the opportunity arose to develop community information through LSCA funding, the library approached the commissioners, the administrator, and department heads with the concept of a cooperative project. They were enthusiastic and anxious to proceed. We have provided a variety of documentation here that is an explanation of what we did and how we did it. We are certain that we have produced an effective and workable model for collecting content, training users, managing information and providing access to that information in a sustainable formathttp://www.county.lapeer.org/tutorial/contents.html
