A Day in the Life of the President
The nature of presidential work, day in and day out, receives scant public
attention. This project tests the usefulness of depicting presidential
work by seeing the documents, photographs, and film generated in the
course of a day. The scope of presidential work is perhaps best captured
in the President's
Daily Diary, which lists all the president's meetings and
activities.
This program allows the viewer to select certain of President Gerald Ford's
activities on April 28, 1975, and see documentation of them. For example,
President Ford delivered a speech to the Chamber of Commerce. Select the
event and you will see his itinerary for the event, pages from the actual
speech text, and photos from his appearance.
