Cameron omniangle semi-flexible gastroscope,
ca. 1940-1969

Description: Semi-flexible gastroscope. Chromium-plated brass with glass lens, air feeding port with threaded cap, electrical connection with switch and detachable light control knob at proximal end; tubular shaft is scored from midpoint to distal end and covered by a permanent protective rubber sheath; distal end has slits for air inflation, lens and mirror housing and threaded light bulb housing terminating in tapered, flexible rubber tip; includes Cameron alternating current control, air inflation bulb and tubing and anesthesia tube. Instrument marked: "U.S. PAT. 2325831-1985196-1915811 -- CHICAGO, U.S.A. -- CANADIAN PAT. 1944. -- 1196." Instrument housed in plastic case. Scope: 75 x 1.3 (dia.) cm.; Case: 82.0 x 8.0 x 13 cm.
