Cameron semi-flexible gastroscope,
ca. 1940-1959.

Manufactured by: Cameron Surgical Specialty, Co., Chicago.

Description: Semi-flexible gastroscope. Chromium plated brass with glass lens, air feeding port with threaded cap, electrical connection and light control handle at proximal end; shaft is scored from midpoint t distal end and covered by a permanent protective rubber sheath; distal end has holes for air inflation of stomach, glass lens, mirror housing and threaded light bulb housing terminating in tapered, flexible rubber tip. Instrument is housed in leatherette case with velvet lining. Instrument marked: "CAMERON SURGICAL SPECIALTY CO. -- CHICAGO, USA -- MODEL 745." Scope: 77.2 cm. x 1.2 (dia.) cm.; Case: 80.5 x 8 x 13 cm.

Cataloged instrument is housed in wooden case 82 x 10 x 9 cm. marked on the inside lid: "Georg Wolf Gm.b.N -- Spezialfabrik -- fur Kystoskope -- BERLIN N.W. 7 -- karistrasse 18 -- Made in Germany."
