Scenario: Projecting a Computer
1) Turn on the projector by pressing the pink button on the remote and aiming the remote at the projector (not the screen).
2) Press the mode button and toggle through the options until you see "Computer 1" appear at the lower left hand corner of the projection screen.
3) Use the little gray KVM box on the top of the cabinet to toggle between the PC & MAC.
4) Turn off the projector with the same pink button that you turned it on with. Pressing it once will project a small grey rectangle at the bottom left of the screen saying "Power off?" Press the pink button again to power off.

Scenario: Projecting a VHS tape

1) Turn on the projector by pressing the pink button on the remote and aiming the remote at the projector (not the screen).
2) Press the mode button until the display displays "Video 1" on the bottom left corner.
3) Using the Auto Patch, push the white button labeled "VCR" to select it
4) The red light will flash. Push the blue button labeled "Projector & Audio" to activate that selection.
5) Turn on VCR
6) Insert tape into VCR. The tape should automatically play, if not, press PLAY

Scenario: Using the Polycom
(Teleconferencing)
1) Turn on the projector by pressing the pink button on the remote and aimimg the remote at the projector (not the screen).
2) Press the mode button until the display has "Video 1" at the bottom left corner.
3) To move between the icons on the screen use the RED directional keys.
4) The middle red button selects the icon you are on. The menu button brings you back to the previous screen.
5) Select Video and type the ethernet address you wish to communicate with.
* ) If the polycom goes to sleep, just pick up the remote to wake it up.

Scenario: Using the Polycom (Speaker Phone)
1) Turn on the projector by pressing the pink button on the remote and aimimg the remote at the projector (not the screen).
2) Press the mode button until the display has "Video 1" at the bottom left corner.
3) Use the RED directional keys to move between the icons on the screen.
4) Choose telephone.
5) Enter the phone number; dial 9 then the number if it's not a UM phone number.
6 ) The middle red button selects the icon you are on. The menu button brings you back to the previous screen.
* ) If the polycom goes to sleep just pick up the remote to wake it up.
*) Do not unplug the polycom from the phone jack in the wall

The Sanyo Projector

Turn on the projector by pressing the pink button on the remote and aimimg the remote at the projector (not the screen).
The project needs about 20 seconds to warm up. During warm up you should see the Sanyo logo.
The projector remote says SANYO
Use mode button located in the top left of the remote to toggle through various inputs
Computer 1 for all computers
Video 1 for the VCR.

Auto Patch
The Auto Patch has several buttons on it:

  • Two red buttons labeled video and audio respectively.
    These 2 buttons should be lit. If one is not, press it until it is.

  • Several white buttons labled VCR, Polycom, etc.
    These are used to select inputs/outputs

  • 2 blue buttons that activate your input/output selection:
    Top = handles the projector and audio (what will be seen and heard in the room)
    Bottom = handles the polycom (what will be transmitted to a remote location via the polycom)

Polycom

On the camera, the green light in front indicates that it's on. If the light is red or not on at all, then the Polycom is off,
and you need to turn it on. Turn on the Polycom by using the switch in the back on the left hand side.
