Jill Andrews heads SI development and external relations
(Oct 2008) Jill Andrews has joined the School of Information as director of development and external relations.
As a university development officer, grant writer, and liaison to industry, government, and the public, she formerly served at two of the nation's leading research institutions -- the California Institute of Technology, where she directed university-wide, research-based educational outreach, and the University of Southern California, where she directed a research-based education and knowledge transfer program with National Science Foundation support.
She has worked with formal and informal educators and multimedia professionals; mentored fundraisers, writers, designers, and Web developers; created peer mentoring resources, including an online, interactive Web tool, NEO-Sphere.org; and authored an online guide to university-K12 partnerships.
In 2006, Andrews moved to southeastern Michigan with joint appointments at the School of Information and the College of Engineering, where she established the new Office of Engineering Outreach and Engagement. Her past work with SI faculty is a natural segue to SI development work.
