Ann Arbor District Library
The Ann Arbor District Library has a long history of a strong partnership with the University of Michigan School of Information.
Over the years they have continuously recruited and hired SI students for part-time jobs, internships/DFEs, and full-time professional positions.
The Ann Arbor District Library's Public Library Associate (PLA) program has proven to be a wonderful career gateway for SI students to learn and work in all aspects of a public library. Selected PLAs often start the program in their first year at SI and continue until graduation. School of Information students who have been selected for this comprehensive field experience have commented that the PLA program significantly affected their future career decisions and enhanced their marketability for careers in public librarianship.
The Ann Arbor District Library continues to show their commitment to the professional and career development of SI students by participating in various professional development and recruiting activities every year, including mock interview days, resume workshops, employment information fairs, and expoSItion.
The AADL has also supported SI through sponsorship opportunities by placing an ad in the SI Career Guide.
