This
site was created by members of the Cultural Heritage Initiative
for Community Outreach (CHICO),
which is based at the University of Michigan School
of Information. The CHICO members involved in the creation of
this site are listed below.
The
CHICO members worked closely with Wild Swan Theater to create this
site to accompany their performance of Rainbow Crow. Wild
Swan Theater provided a teacher's guide, a video of a previous performance,
the main logo on the front page (in black and white) and access
to their materials and actors. We greatly appreciate the work of
Wild Swan Theater and thank them for this opportunity to collaborate
with them.

I've
taught outdoor education to children, written a children's play,
taught New England literature, done organizational work. My most
recent project was writing the script (the storyline) for a web-based
game with a team at the University of Michigan's Museum of Natural
History. My goal is to incorporate my love of nature, writing, and
communication technology to help foster communities, and help solve
world problems one person at a time by reaching people through ideas
that open doors for them.
Zilia
worked on preparing and analyzing a teacher's survey, wrote the
text for "some background", acted as a liaison with Wild
Swan Theater and participated in overall content development.

I like
traveling, swimming, climbing, and oriental calligraphy. I like
to speak with people, and exchange diverse cultures and humanity.
If you plan a travel to Korea, let me know. I also love my family
(mother, wife and daughter). I was born in Korea. I went to Seoul
National University. I majored in economics. I also have my second
under degree in M.I.S. from the University of Georgia. After graduation,
I worked for a security company as an investment consultant dealing
with bonds and stocks. I made noticeable capital gains for my clients.
I have had several full time positions in several different companies
also, such as finance manager, ORACLE DBA, marketing manager in
a venture company. About information technology, I am good at database
design, normalization, ColdFusion, HTML, QTVR, Visual Basic, JAVA,
and a little bit of C++. I can do Windows NT server management,
UNIX (Solaris), and computer hardware fix, upgrade, and assembly.
Of course, I can fine tune software also.
Hyoung
participated in overall content and site development, created our
colorful version of the Rainbow Crow logo and created our first
prototype site.

I'm
very excited to be a part of the CHICO team this year. Culture and
learning have always been of interest to me, and I'm looking forward
to combining those interests with my passion for web design. Currently
I am working on my MA in Educational Technology, and I have a BA
in Psychology. For the past two years, I've taught computer skills
to children and adults and have been involved with the design and
production of a number of educational and commercial websites.
Adina
worked on page creation, designed and created our graphics and navigation
bars, linked the video clips and games, pulled still images from
the videotape and wrote the teacher's survey.

I
am a second year master's student at the School of Information.
I graduated from the University of Washington in 1995 with a BA
in Anthropology with a Russian Language emphasis. Coursework in
anthropological film as well as subsequent experience in film production,
documentary research and digital media instilled in me the desire
to work with multimedia and digital collections. My most recent
multimedia experiences have been with the creation and maintenance
of databases for photographic materials for both a museum and digital
library. I am committed to international cultural heritage preservation
and worked this past summer at the University of Fort Hare Library
and Liberation Archives in South Africa.
Stephanie
developed the site architecture, participated in overall content
development, was responsible for the "about the performance"
page, digitized video, created the "resources" page, and
marked-up the original teacher's guide.
I am
a first year master's student at the School of Information, and
I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan
in Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Classical Civilization.
I enjoy interacting with other cultures, and I was able to do this
when I taught English as a Second Language to Mexican migrant workers
two years ago. I also have both musical and theater training, and
I have participated in community theater and various musical groups.
I am looking forward to building on my previous experiences in the
CHICO program.
Mercedea
was our digital photographer, a main contact with Wild Swan Theater,
created the "behind the scenes" page, and developed this
page and the site map.
