Buddy Guy
July, 30, 1936 -
Born: Lettsworth, LA

Buddy Guy is king of Chicago blues today, just like his mentor Muddy Waters had been. He is recognized by his boundless energy and guitar histrionics on stage.

He began playing in the 1950s in Baton Rouge, but moved to Chicago in 1957 where he quickly established himself. In 1958 he recorded two singles, the beginning of many. In 1991 he won his first Grammy award.

He is currently Chicago's reigning blues artist.
