T-Bone Walker (Aaron Thibeaux Walker)
May 28, 1910 - March 16, 1975
Born: Linden, TX

T-Bone Walker is remembered as the first to record electric blues. He changed the way blues was played when he started the modern electric blues guitar movement. Every blues guitarist that followed him bears his influence.

T-Bone Walker always wanted to be a musician. He ran off with a medicine show while still in grade school. He often took odd jobs playing music. In the early 1920s he met up with Blind Lemon Jefferson and accompanied him in his travels. In 1929 he made his first recording "Wichita Falls Blues". During the early 1930s he traveled extensively and finally settled in Los Angels. In 1939 he became fascinated with the electric guitar. Throughout the 1940s and 50s he was a success with his electric guitar playing before taking his talents aboard in the 1960s. His contributions on the electric guitar virtually define what blues is today.
