Caption: The six standing columns of the temple of the Sun (Jupiter). Three blocks in each column as a rule. Shaft 22 ft. in circumference, 58 feet high; with base and entablature, about 80 feet. Erected by Antoninus Pius. Temple platform 1000 x 450 feet. Blocks in foundation up 13 x 13 x 63 feet. There were 54 columns, 19 on a side and 10 at the ends. Temple itself was 290 x 160 feet.
