Food/survival: Yucca fruit is also gathered from yucca plant. This type of preparation needs adult supervision. Materials needed are: a plastic bag, collect a dozen ripe yucca fruit and wood. Build an open fire outside. After thirty minutes, bury the ripe fruit about five inches deep into the fire place. Next, cover the fruit with hot ashes/charcoals and keep a medium fire burning over the buried fruit. Bake the fruit for one hour. Finally, remove and brush ashes off the fruit and it is ready to be eaten.

Ceremonies/medicine: Yucca is used for ceremonies and other uses. Navajo medicine men/women use yucca for certain ceremonies such as washing your hair and taking a bath.

Other uses: Yucca is used to make white wool dye and also used for the winter shoe game.
