SI 696: Practical Engagement Workshop: Advanced Digital Librarianship

Provides an opportunity for students to assume roles of responsibility and authority in the operations of a digital public library. Exact roles vary depending on the individual student's interests, background, and career goals, as well as the needs of the library, but could include administration and management tasks in reference, collections or youth services; maintenance of existing resources; development of new resources; and classroom and one-on-one instruction. Students gain experience and insight into the unique challenges presented in running and coordinating information services in an increasingly digital and distributed world.

Prerequisites:
SI 501 and SI 596/NEW 501 or permission of instructor
