SI 512: Special Topics: Policies for Changing Economics of Knowledge
Seminar looks at the relationship between the changing nature of knowledge and policies for controlling access and use, principally through intellectual property protection and contract. It focuses on the role of technological change and the interplay of interests at the institutional, national, and international levels with special attention to the values of research and education. Particular emphasis is given to the practical aspects and requirements of policy development from the perspective of the modern research university.
