Biographical Information
Timothy Simcoe
Timothy S. Simcoe is Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Tim teaches courses in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, and he has published in the areas of technology management, firm strategy, health care, and industrial organization. His current research focuses on the political economy of voluntary standard setting, the impact of compatibility standards on economic and technological change, and the organizational impact of IT adoption.
Tim earned his M.A. in Economics and his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley in 2005. Prior to that, he worked as a consultant in the economic and information technology practices of Ernst & Young LLP, and as a research assistant for the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers.
