We will be holding another Town Hall Meeting in our series on Management and Models for Cyberinfrastructure on Monday, June 23, at 3 p.m. EDT (12 noon PDT). We will be using the Access Grid infrastructure, so participation will be via video or audio conferencing. The purpose of this Town Hall Meeting is:

  • Surface information on and experience with models and management of large-scale, distributed facilities (see www.si.umich.edu/cyber for progress so far)
  • get reactions to a summary of where we are at at this point; John King will give a status report at the beginning of the town hall meeting
  • open up the discussion so that more voices can be heard around these issues and people can express their hopes, wishes, fears, concerns, etc.

As described in more detail at www.si.umich.edu/cyber, we are taking these steps to help the National Science Foundation formulate plans for how to implement the recently released report of the Blue Ribbon Committee on Cyberinfrastructure (Revolutionizing Science and Engineering through Cyber-infrastructure).

If you plan on participating in this meeting, please notify Gary Olson (gmo@umich.edu) and Erik Hofer (ehofer@umich.edu). Please also indicate if you would like to speak at the meeting (limited to 5 minutes so we can have broad participation).

For those individuals attending the Global Grid Forum 8 or HPDC-12, there will be a participating AG node at the conference in Seattle. If you wish to join from a non-Access Grid location, we recommend using VRVS to join. Please contact Erik Hofer (ehofer@umich.edu) for more details.
