Our Open House event for prospective students allows you to learn about our Master of Science in Information (MSI) in the convenient setting of U-M's Detroit Center.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by Monday, September 22.

At the Open House event, you can meet current students, staff, and faculty. You'll hear about the master's and doctoral curricula and get an in-depth look at our MSI specializations, internship opportunities, and career possibilities. We'll also give you details about the application and admission process. And of course, we'll fill you in on obtaining SI scholarships and other sources of funding.

Our Master of Science in Information is the perfect complement to your undergraduate degree. We offer nine specializations in the master's program, or you can tailor your degree to fit your specific career goals. You can also combine your MSI with another degree in one of our six dual-degree programs with other U-M academic units.

Nine MSI Specializations

You may take one or two of the following specializations (or tailor your degree to your own needs).

A Top-Ranked Ph.D. Program

Our Ph.D. program seeks outstanding students who show promise of making significant contributions to the information professions in teaching and research. This full-time program is able to accommodate the wide range of interests that have been brought together within the School of Information. Learn more about our doctoral program.
