My name is Joan Harvey-Tsosie. I am a Dine from the Navajo Reservation. I am originally from Rough Rock, Arizona. My mother's clan is the Rainbow Redhouse Clan, my father's clan is the Red Bottom Clan, my maternal grandfather's clan is the Bitter Water Clan and my paternal grandfather's clan is the Salt Clan. I live in Kayenta, Arizona. I am a mother of four boys: Akira, Shaun, Corea and Yngwie. I am a sixth grade teacher at Kayenta Unified School District. I am also a rug weaver.I am very excited about participating in the Cultural Preservation Summer Institute.
