Chimes Inc. provides workforce procurement and management services to the Global 1000. Through scaleable, web-based applications, Chimes administers the hiring cycle to identify, leverage, and manage the enterprise-wide spending on human capital.
Project Objectives
- Understand the business model of Chimes, its software (vendor management system) and its relationships with variety of organizational inputs
- Help both QA group and development group to upgrade the current system smoothly
- Manage scattered information to enhance the usability of the current system as well as define missing requirements

Learning Objectives
- Learn various methods to enhance usability of the system by interacting with different groups in the company
- Gain the knowledge of quality assurance by testing functionalities and drafting testing plans
- Learn a variety of problem-solving skills and become familiar with the whole software development process

Project Outcomes
As an intern working in the quality assurance group, I collected information about and gained knowledge of helpdesk management systems, quality assurance defect reporting tools, and the change request/engineering change system. I also gained experience in writing test plans and performing automatic testing.
