Thomson Gale is a major publisher and provider of information resources.

Project Objectives

  • Monitor content quality at Thomson Gale
  • Complete major projects related to content quality assurance
  • Develop a directories database for tracking and analyzing fact checking projects
  • Document fact checking processes.
  • Conduct and analyze fact checking projects
  • Create MARC records for major company project

Learning Objectives


  • Hone existing skills and develop new skills related to pursuit of an advanced degree in Information Science
  • Take the lead in project design and management

Project Outcomes


While at this internship, I modified and created MARC records for a major online resource center. This entailed not only making modifications to MARC records to reflect the electronic surrogates that were in the product, but the creation of MARC records for artifacts that previously had none.
