Washtenaw County Information Technology is a part of the County Support Services organization. They provide and support all major technology investments for Washtenaw County employees and the county's citizens.

Project Objectives

Develop user guides and design the online help system for them
Do usability tests on the help system and the link checker as part of the iterative development
Support content liaisons in their use of the content management system
Contribute to the county department website reviews and design zoomerang surveys

Learning Objectives

Gain knowledge of county organizations and work flows and how to apply this knowledge in a government information environment
Gain expertise on open source content management systems
Develop an understanding of web information architecture
Hone skills to communicate more effectively in person, on the phone and in writing

Project Outcomes

At the end of my work experience,I delivered a fully functional help system for the county content management system and a new add-in feature, a link checker.
