Washtenaw Community Health Organization (WCHO) manages the public health efforts of Washtenaw, Monroe, Livingston, and Lenawee counties in southeast Michigan. A major focus of WCHO is Encompass, the information system used by all public health workers in the four counties.
Project Objectives
- Assist with the continuing development of Encompass, the information system used by WCHO's affiliate organizations
- Conduct a user-centered evaluation of Encompass
- Research and recommend policies for information access and security
|
 |
Learning Objectives
- Prototype information system components in a new environment
- Practice user-centered design
- Take the lead in managing projects from start to finish
|
Project Outcomes
While at WCHO I developed prototypes for three modules of Encompass, two of which have been implemented. I also
completed a user satisfaction survey and used the results to plan further evaluations. The policy that I created for remote access to Encompass will be implemented shortly.
