Microsoft is a software company that develops personal computer software applications and operating systems. MSN is an Internet portal service and is one of the three core businesses of Microsoft.

Project Objectives

  • Conduct research and analysis in order to propose a way to effectively and efficiently use search result clustering to enhance the user's experience with MSN Search
  • Make recommendations on how search result clustering should be presented

Learning Objectives


  • Gain experience and improve my skills in the techniques used in usability analysis
  • Work on my skills with comparative analyses, focus groups, and usability tests
  • Become more familiar with the real-world working environment
  • Plan and execute an entire project, write reports, and present and defend my findings.

Project Outcomes


Based on my research and and analysis, I made several recommendations for interface elements and features for the implementation of search result clustering.
