Email

The Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress offers directed research and analysis to agencies of the federal government and the District of Columbia, and authorized federal contractors.

Project Objectives

  • Research, evaluate and recommend software applications to replace current marketing database
  • Examine and assess marketing activities ranging from print materials to website presence to agency briefings
  • Make recommendations for streamlining, improving and more highly targeting marketing activities

Learning Objectives

  • Gain greater understanding of information flows within the marketing arm of a federal institution
  • Apply knowledge gained from SI to enhance my previous, professional experience in marketing
  • Observe and experience how the federal government works

Project Outcomes

During this internship I produced two major deliverables in the form of reports. I provided detailed recommendations for software applications that might replace the current marketing database and I created an assessment of current marketing initiatives and materials. I followed these reports with recommendations to improve and optimize processes at the division.
