Project Objectives

  • Create and distribute media mailings, press releases, and weekly departmental reports
  • Create an effective system to identify, store, and retrieve media files, clips, and author photos
  • Help build relationships between individuals such as reviewers, librarians, and school media specialists and Holt BYR

Learning Objectives

  • Build skills for effective consumer and media marketing communication
  • Enhance knowledge of the publishing industry and the wide-range of career opportunities it offers
  • Continue to acquire awareness of books available for children and young adults

Project Outcomes

I wrote press releases and other media communication for many of Holt's upcoming fall titles. I created a discussion guide for Emmy and the Home for Troubled Girls (Lynne Jonell) that will be featured on the Holt BYR website. I assisted in the preparations for BEA and ALA Annual Conference. Finally, I worked with other Holt departments such as Editorial and Promotions.
