The Internet Public Library (IPL) is a public service organization and learning/teaching environment at the University of Michigan School of Information.
Project Objectives
- Using HTML/XHTML, CSS, and lessons from my SI coursework, develop a user interface for the IPL Book Recommender webspace that seamlessly integrates with the look and feel of the rest of the IPL website
- Using JavaServer Pages, JDBC, Java Servlets, and JavaBeans developed by Shin Kasuga with some work by myself, create a dynamic web experience for patrons to the site
- Combine the previous two objectives in communication with Apache Tomcat and Amazon.com's API for the retrieval of book information, storage of user information, and the overall metadata for the IPL Recommender System
