SAIT is the Samsung Group's central R&D organization, established as the incubator for future cutting-edge technologies.

Project Objectives

  • Examine the efficiency and usability of the product prototype in the developing stage
  • Design the evaluation plan and clarify the methodology
  • Conduct the expert review and usability tests according to the evaluation process
  • Analyze the results and integrate them into several categories
  • Diagnose the problems of each category
  • Suggest recommendations which envision the future direction for developing the product

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to design and frame the evaluation plan appropriately given the purpose and duration of evaluation
  • Experience how to implement and test a prototype in the beginning stage of development
  • Analyze and synthesize evaluation results from users of different levels
  • Suggest possible solutions of identified problems
  • Provide a number of user interface design alternatives

Project Outcomes

The goal of the project was to create a simple and easy user interface to manage websites with large amounts of content. I set up the plan and method to consider the purpose and the duration of the evaluation. Two major methods - expert reviews and usability tests - had been previously conducted and I integrated the results into several key themes. After identifying the problems of each category, I prioritized them and suggested possible solutions including examples of revised user interface. The team decided to proceed with the project after addressing major problems identified. In addition, I suggested evaluation steps for the future.
