  • Gain an understanding of technical issues and resources as they arise
  • Use technical resources when researching clients
  • Effectively use firm technology to improve efficiency on projects.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the specialty practice methodology and learn to utilize the KPMG tools in place to support this methodology
  • Learn about other specialty practices and how the groups work together.
  • Use KPMG technology to become familiar with and increase knowledge of KPMG
  • Gain an understanding of specialty practice products, services, and lines of businesses
  • Gain understanding and possibly identify potential lines of businesses in which I would like to specialize
  • Gain a high level understanding of products and services offered at KPMG

Project Outcomes

While at my internship, I learned more about network, data, and information security along with IT compliance issues with Sarbanes Oxley. Since Sarbanes Oxley is a major issue that all public companies have to deal with, the experience will be valuable knowledge for my future career. I also interviewed and met many professionals in the IT field to gain further understanding of how information systems are managed in the industry.
