Hans Masing (MSI '03)

Hans Masing
"The curriculum at SI fit in well with the work I was doing and the career path I had in mind."

Before SI: He attended Arizona State University, entered the Marine Corps, and then received a degree in management information systems from Penn State University. Since 1997 -- and while a student at SI -- he has worked in information technology at the University of Michigan.

At SI: As a part-time student, he juggled family life and a career at the University of Michigan. "One of the lessons learned from SI was the importance of working in groups."

After SI: In addition to running an online toy store (brain-station.com) with his wife, he continues to work in information technology at the University of Michigan and is also an adjunct lecturer at the School of Information. "Don't be afraid to be fearless, to try anything. SI gives you such broad opportunities for one school."
