Faniel_Ixchel Ixchel Faniel is an assistant professor at the School of Information. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked at IBM and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). She earned her MBA and Ph.D. from the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. As a graduate student at the Marshall School, Faniel was a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellow and a KPMG Fellow.

Faniel's research interests broadly include information technology that facilitates knowledge sharing and reuse across organizational and disciplinary boundaries, creativity and innovation, socially shared and distributed cognition environments, and knowledge intensive organizations. In her most recent research, she examined technology features that support cross-departmental understanding, such that the knowledge is more likely to be valued for innovation.
