The fourth School of Information Alternative Spring Break was better than ever! Twenty-two graduate students spent February 25-March 1 in service at a wide range of non-profit organizations.

The SI students came from each of the School's specialization areas: Archives and Records Management; Library and Information Services; Human-Computer Interaction; Information Economics, Management and Policy; and Tailored Specialization.

The work sites and a link to more information describing the projects include:

The School of Information's Alternative Spring Break is open to graduate students studying at the School of Information. The School covers student travel costs and lodging through a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in support of Practical Engagement Programs and Academic Outreach.

Undergraduates looking for Alternative Spring Break opportunities should look into the University of Michigan Alternative Spring Break program administered by U-M's Ginsberg Center.

The Project Director of Alternative Spring Break at SI is Professor Maurita P. Holland; this year's project manager was Henry Chou with support from Marsha Whitish.
