Electronic Privacy Information Center

ASB
2002

Lauren Collins worked with the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) in Washington, D.C. EPIC attempts to influence policy that affects privacy--primarily, but not limited to, electronic privacy--by lobbying Congress and writing position papers and articles.

Lauren reviewed a case (Otte v. Doe) recently granted certiorari for review by the U.S. Supreme Court to assist EPIC in determining its position on the case. She attempted to determine why the Supreme Court was reviewing this case--since it had rejected a similar case before--and helped develop EPIC's stand on the case. She delivered a memorandum of law that explained the case; she also made recommendations and developed a Web page.
