Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA)first-time ASB host Jessie Goger spent her spring break at the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), a nonprofit membership organization that promotes competitive and fair open markets, open systems, and open networks. There she attended several hearings, bill markups, and rallies on the Hill. She even flew solo on a couple of trips and made reports of her observations. Jessie also updated various online and in-house databases and did research on topics for upcoming bill discussions. Jessie had this to say about her experience: “I'm pretty sure that I don't want to be a lobbyist—but I'm absolutely fascinated by what they do. This internship introduced me to a whole line of research work that I could do after finishing school and it reminded me of how much really goes on in DC.” |
