DC Extracurricular Activities

DC ASBers took full advantage of the cultural and social opportunities in the city. Some highlights include:

  • The National Archives
  • The Botanical Gardens
  • The National Museum of Natural History
  • Georgetown
  • Adam's Morgan
  • The Waffle House on 10th
  • Hirshorn Museum of Contemporary Art
  • National Public Radio Tour
  • The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts
  • “My favorite memory would have to be our first full day in D.C., when a group of us went to the National Archives. As we stood in front of the Constitution- voted the most important document in American history- we were riveted. Not because of the document itself; we were fascinated as the ARM students explained to us about its preservation...a purely SI experience.”
  • “Washington, DC is a fantastic city to work in! The buildings are magnificent. I enjoyed just walking around and admiring the architecture. On our last day, I visited the National Museum of Natural History and I felt like a kid again. The exhibits were fun and educational. I was so happy during the four hours I spent wandering the halls.”
