Foundation Centersecond-time ASB host SI student Jessica Walker spent ASB 2004 working at the Foundation Center in New York City. For a large part of her week, Jessica researched training opportunities in the New York metropolitan area that are related to the Foundation Center's mission. She captured relevant classes in an Access database and created a report summarizing her findings and suggestions for new "niches" for the Foundation Center. After returning to Ann Arbor, Jessica presented her report and findings during a strategic planning conference call with officers in every Foundation Center office around the country. In addition to her main project, Jessica spent time on her last day doing some informational interviews with Foundation Center staff members whom she found extremely intelligent, engaged and interesting. These interviews provided valuable insight for Jessica as she continues her academic and professional work. |
