Shawn Martin pioneered a new relationship for ASB at the Council on Library and Information Resources. During his time there he wrote a report for the President of CLIR detailing the changes in libraries and scholarly communication brought about by electronic technology. He also read and summarized several policy reports on library advocacy and attended meetings with members of the National Humanities Alliance, the Digital Library Federation and CLIR staff.

About his assignment, Shawn wrote, “It gave me the opportunity to research in depth some of the important issues facing libraries today. It has made me think about taking more policy classes and looking into the possibilities of doing humanities/library advocacy on a national level.”
