Museum of Television and Radio

As part of its second annual participation in ASB, the Museum of Television and Radio put SI students to work in its Library and Research Services Departments, where the students had opportunities to do meaningful research and useful organizing in a “real world” setting.

Sarah Smith spent a significant part of her week researching the copyright status of DVD versions of old TV shows. Meanwhile, Nancy Jacobson investigated research questions that were sent in to the museum. This often required searching the museum’s holdings and using the books and documents in the research library to find obscure information. Once she had found answers to the questions, she responded to the inquiring parties with letters and packets of relevant information .
