ACM SIGECOM

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 8 JUNE 2007

The ACM Special Interest Group on Electronic Commerce (http://www.acm.org/sigs/sigecom/) wishes to assist students who attend the annual conference on Electronic Commerce (EC 07, http://stiet.si.umich.edu/ec07/).  In order to help students attend the conference and thus encourage their participation, the SIG for the first time is offering a limited number of student scholarships to help defray the cost of attending the conference.

Up to 20 scholarships will be awarded, each providing up to $500 to defray conference costs (including travel, hotel and conference registration).  Students will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements. All students full-time enrolled as of 1 April 2007 in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. granting institution are eligible to apply.  All application materials must be received by 8 June 2007 (midnight EDT).  Students will be notified of decisions by 12 June 2007.

To apply, a student must send the following information to mailto:ec07-scholarship@umich.edu, with the subject line "<candidate's name> ACM SIGecom scholarship application":

  1. Full legal name
  2. Participation as author in EC07 conference or workshop (provide conference or workshop name and title of paper)
  3. Participation as author in any previous EC conferences or workshops (provide conference or workshop names, years, and titles of papers)
  4. SIGecom membership status (provide ACM membership number)
  5. Current academic status (name of college or university and enrollment status as of 1 April 2007)
  6. Mailing address to which a check should be sent
  7. E-mail address to which notification should be sent

Scholarships will be awarded based on priorities assigned according to items 2, 3 and 4 above (in that order).  All decisions of the conference organizers are final.  The conference organizers reserve the right to require proof of item 5 above.  Original receipts are required for the portion of the scholarship that exceeds conference registration fees.

This scholarship program is made possible by the generosity of our corporate supporters: Microsoft Research (Platinum); Google and HP Research (Gold); Akamai, CombineNet, and Yahoo! Research (Friend).
