Nancy Pearl: Wit and Wisdom

Add Nancy Pearl of Librarian Action Figure fame to an audience of more than 160 people and you get a lot of wit mixed in with your insights.

Pearl, a 1967 SI alumna and former executive director of the Center for the Book at the Seattle Public Library, entertained the audience of the first "Human Connection: Words, Power, and Change in the BiblioTech Age" lecture series event sponsored by the School of Information.

The author of Book Lust: Recommended Reading for Every Mood, Moment, and Reason didn't disappoint her fans, telling stories about her decision to become a librarian and her genuine affection for the book and all it represents.

If you missed it, you can listen to Pearl's lecture in streaming audio format.
