Abstract

Dr. Rael-Gálvez will share Native Bound Unbound, a digital initiative centered on documenting the lives of the enslaved Indigenous people across the Americas. Thanks to the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Dr. Rael-Gálvez is leading a global team in the goal to build a digital archive and repository of documents, artifacts, historic sites, and stories--imprints and cultural expressions that encompass the indelible histories of people, places, moments and time, and when drawn together, reflect a unique story of both the brutality suffered and the resilience of those that passed through it.
