Get to know fellow members of the UMSI community as you complete a service opportunity for a local organization during UMSI Service Day on Tuesday, Aug. 20! Projects range from one to two hours in length between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. You are welcome to sign up for more than one project as long as they occur at different times!

Available opportunities:

• Park clean-up and weeding at Hanover Square Park and South University Park
• Creating greeting cards at the UMSI Engagement Center
• Food pantry cleaning and organizing at Maize & Blue Cupboard
• Aquatic planting and invasives removal at Bandemer Detention Basin
• Housing property beautification at Stimson Apartment Properties
• Warehouse food sorting at Food Gatherers
• Weeding the peony garden at Nichols Arboretum
• Farm tour and work at Campus Farm
• Invasive plant removal at Cedar Bend Nature Area

All projects are accessible by public transportation or within walking distance to North Quad, unless otherwise noted. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear. 

Participants are encouraged to stop by the UMSI Engagement Center (777 N. University Ave., Suite 200, above Panera) for breakfast between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., snacks throughout the day, and a reflective chat and snacks from 3-4 p.m. Open to incoming students, current students, staff and faculty at UMSI.
